personal drug addiction stories

what drugs have you done? have any personal stories about your life and addiction?

?oh and whats your age

I have never personally been through addiction, but i have helped my best friend get through his fathers addiction.

His father began using cocaine, and quickly became addicted. after a while of use, he couldnt afford his habit any more, so he started to deal cocaine to earn money to supply his addiction, he began using prostitutes, and never going to work.

His family finally found out, when they couldn’t afford to pay the bills. they lost everything, their house, their cars, and their trust in him.

He quit drugs, but came into a bit of money, and got back into it.. he is still on and off with using, but not as severe as it was at the peak.

This has happened over the past 5 years, and i’ve been there for my friend and his family the whole time..

I am 17, and i smoke cigarettes, used to smoke marijuana, used ecstasy, LSD, DMT, and ketamine.
I refuse to go near any “hard” drugs, such as methyl-amphetamines, cocaine, heroin ect.

I know my limits, and i research the effects and risks before i do decide to do a drug. I may seem like a stereotypical teenaged drug user, but it is different, I dont just take what ever is thrown at me. I practice harm reduction.

Drug Rehab Centers: a Second Chance

I come from a big but close circle of friends. We’ve been friends since high school and most of us continue to be. But I tell you, we’ve been through some tough times. Some of my closest friends began experimenting with drugs and soon they got hooked. It was ugly, and for two of those it still is… Thankfully though, with the help of some of the guys we were able to intern them in drug rehab centers.

They got a second chance

It’s been around 5 years since most of them got out, and I still thank the drug rehab centers. They gave my friends a second chance at life. We’re still working on two of our friends. I’d like to think they aren’t doomed to be drug addicts for the rest of their lives. That’s why I keep telling them to go to a rehab center, but each time they seem to be doing a good job, they fall into a relapse. It’s difficult to talk about this, and that’s why I chose to write about it. I feel like I should warn people that haven’t gone through what I’ve gone… to prepare them.

I think the most difficult part is the start… When you begin to notice the change of personality in your friends. That’s when you think you should drug test friend. And you should drug test him or her! The thing is how are you going to do it? You can’t just come up and tell your friend you want him drug tested… or can you? No, you have to!

There comes a moment when you HAVE to do something

After that phase you just can’t see your best friends damage themselves the way they are. You have see the general picture and realize you have to take them to a drug rehab center. The sooner the better, trust me. When we interned our first friend we were still teenagers so we got him to an adolescent center drug rehab. They treated his drug addiction and let family and friends visit from time to time. He got better and now he’s perfect. Stories like that repeat themselves all around.

Maybe it’s luck, maybe it’s determination… but whatever it is, drug rehab centers provide what drug addicts need to overcome that horrible phase; to have a second chance at life.
