pysch 101 help…. oral presentation!?

I need help! I am taking Psychology 101 at a junior college. We have to do a 5 to 10 minute oral presentation on any Psychological Disorder or on anything to do with Pysch. My topic was drug addiction…. Is this a good topic? If so, what type of information should I include in my presentation? I am so lost. This is my first college class and I am freaking out.

Drug addiction sounds like a good topic, though you may want to narrow it down to one form of addiction such as cocaine, marijuana, prescription drug abuse, tobacco, etc.

Begin in your college library. Look for titles such as these in the reference collection (search the library catalog).

Encyclopedia of drugs, alcohol & addictive behavior .
The encyclopedia of understanding alcohol and other drugs.

Once you have a better idea of what your topic encompasses, then search further for books that you can check out by searching the catalog.

Next, check out your library Web site (while in the library or online). Look for a link that says “databases” or “electronic resources” or “find articles”. This will lead you to databases which the library subscribes to so that you have free access to published information.

Example databases: ProQuest, Ebsco, SIRS, Opposing Viewpoints, etc.

Here’s a link to libraries around the country…
