Do you know someone who has ever beaten a crack-cocaine addiction?
I saw the trailer and bits and pieces of a documentary on youtube last night. Due to the graphic nature of the video, I will not post it here. But you can open a new window and type in “Crackheads Gone Wild Official Trailer” on youtube and it will bring up the video. It’s shocking. Take a look and then answer. For those that can’t look up the vid, you can still answer the question. Do you know anyone who has beaten a crack-cocaine (or crystal meth) addiction? I have a family member who did, thankfully. It was a hard battle though. Many demons had to be slayed. But he’s alive and well.
What about you?
Yes. I know thousands of them. The old concept of once an addict, always an addict is dead. They do it through the belief in a power greater than themselves and by supporting one another. The therapeutic value of one addict helping another is unparalled. This is a disease that defies detection, diagnosis and treatment. The only way to begin recovery from this illness is to surrender to it’s existence and recovery is then possible.
